We were recently privileged to be instructed to fit out a new HQ office at the prestigious Exeter Science Park for the multi-award-winning Cathedral Management Limited (CFM) who, with a turnover of £3.3m celebrate their 25th anniversary milestone.
It was very important to CFM to keep investment in the local economy and as a result only Devon based independent suppliers were contracted. MD Business Interiors who are based in Exeter, Devon employed all local staff and subcontractors. They oversaw the office refurbishment fit out project and carried out all aspects of the office fit-out, design, lighting, office furniture, general furnishings and refurbishment; including installing the funky floating raft ceiling and LED spotlights.
The full range of office refurbishment and fit out works involved included developing the original brief and specification, AutoCAD design and space planning, new data and power supply network, new glazed and stud partitions, mechanical air ventilation, air-conditioning, new kitchen, reception area, boardroom and open plan office area, all site surveys and the supply and installation of office furniture, board room and conference furniture, reception counter and general office seating.
Eagle House is also now permanent home to CFM’s very own Rhino ‘Cath’. CFM bought the rhino at an auction organised last year by Paignton Zoo as part of the ‘Great Big Rhino Project’, supporting conservation, which raised a total of £123,000. The summer-long project saw a free public art trail of 40 life-size painted rhinos dotted around Exeter and the English Riviera. Chagford-based professional muralist, illustrator and painter Steve Dooley designed the intricate artwork including gold leaf detail. Cath is proudly displayed on her very own plinth in the new reception area.
